La Datcha beach, pale sand and shallow water

5 min by car

La Datcha beach

The easiest beach with children: pale sand, shallow water for tens of metres, parking and snack bars a few steps away. Busy at weekends, quiet on weekdays.

Îlet du Gosier and its lighthouse, seen from the sea

10 min by ferry

Îlet du Gosier

A small islet with its lighthouse, ten minutes by ferry from the village. Spend the day: mask and snorkel, a picnic in the shade of the sea grapes. Departures every hour.

Le Gosier village, colourful façades and shops

7 min by car

The village and its market

Market on Friday and Saturday mornings: fruit, spices, fish. The rest of the week, a bakery, a fishmonger and two mini-markets are plenty.

A seaside restaurant table at sunset

Eating out

A dozen restaurants between La Datcha and the village, from beach shacks to smarter tables. Book at weekends in high season — they fill up fast.
